Prairie Bridges – Jacob’s Prairie Traditional Cache
Team Zinger: I was informed by a member of the Prairie Bridges Park Board that this cache is no longer in it's place. It must have been swept away by the floods of 2008. He told me that flood waters were 7 feet deep rushing thru the prairie. I'll look for a more suitable place for a cache in this park. Thanks to those who took the time to find this cache.

This cache is located in Prairie Bridges Park on the north edge of Ackley. It is a medium sized camouflaged container with a logbook and pencils and a few swag items. If you stay on the main trails you can get to within 30 ft of the cache before walking into the prarie grass.
Prairie Bridges is currently an 80 acre park with over 60 electrical campsites and has 3 miles of scenic trails that take you through forested areas, vast prairies, as well as by streams and ponds. 18-acre Jacob's Prairie contains many plants and grasses that are native to Iowa. There is also a Swimming area, picnic sites, and stocked fishing ponds, as well as Restroom and shower areas. The park has recently purchased additional land to the west and will be converting it to part of the park over the next couple of years.
