Geocache Description:

Fort George offers fantastic views over Port of Spain and the surrounding areas

To find this cache follow the road leading upto Fort George from the Western Main Road in the St. James area. There are signs posted that point the way to Fort George. You can park your vehicle inside the park's parking lot at co-ordinate: N10 41.312 W061 32.488. The park is open daily from 6am to 6pm, there are toilet facilities and picnic areas with tabels and benches.

Fort George was built in 1804 and the historical site has been turned into a park in 1968. The spot is quite popular with locals and tourists, especially on week-ends, because of the expansive views in almost all directions. Inside the wooden house you will find some information relating to the history of the fort. There are also several historical cannons on the site.

The cache had been destroyed on previous occasions, but it has been restored by Yoramdavid, from Portugal. Many thanks for this Yoram! Please take the regular care when reaching for it and placing it back after you found it and signed the log book. If you wish to take anything from the cache, please put something back as well.
