It's been a long road, getting from there to
here.
It's been a long time, but my time is finally near.
And I will see my dream come alive at last. I will touch the
sky.
And they're not gonna hold me down no more, no they're not gonna
change my mind.
Cause I've got faith of the heart.
I'm going where my heart will take me.
I've got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I've got strength of the soul. And no one's gonna bend or break
me.
I can reach any star.
I've got faith.
I've got faith, faith of the heart.
Little did we realize almost four years ago when we
started this amazing journey where it would lead us. We've met a
lot of GREAT folks along the way, as well as a few brutally nasty
ones. We've gathered up a lot of Kudos, as well as a huge amount of
vilification, some from very unexpected quarters. Thru it all,
We've tried to stay true to our original vision of honoring Hoosier
Pioneers and Veterans...And 8 years into it we're still being
attacked--LEAD DOG

INDIANA SPIRIT QUEST
#591
"CEDAR ROW"
Welcome to Alger Cemetery in Wabash County Indiana .
"This burial ground was established in
1846, not in connection with any religious society, or any house of
worship, but simply because the people of the region needed a
convenient place in which to bury their dead. It has been in
constant use for the purposes of its creation and is so employed at
the present day. We have no detailed account for publication in
this work. The cemetery is located in the northeast part of the
township in the vicinity of the residence of Martin Alger,
northwest of the town of Urbana." Helms, HISTORY OF WABASH COUNTY,
1884 p. 418.
This is a well-maintained and secluded burial ground that
most people don't know about because it is not readily visible from
the road, and it is on a dead end. This is an old pioneer cemetery
with 77 known burials dating back to the 1850. Last interrment was
in 1957; 5 Alger family members are buried here.
There is a road back to the cemetery, and a pull-off where
you can park.
