A couple decades ago, I had the fortune to marry into the Watson family, whose roots extend far back into the history of Enterprise. Shortly after we wed, Viv, (the brighter half of Clan Riffster), spent a day giving me a tour of the town, including those spots that were not on any map, though they were endearing to them. One spot was a natural, free flowing spring, with bright green water, which I found particularly intriguing.
Viv tells me she and her siblings, Annette, Bruce, Carolyn, Dwayne, and Ernie grew up playing in that spring, and the woods surrounding it. Back then, the only signs of past human activities were a set of concrete steps leading down to the water, and a partial retaining wall. Many years later, we discovered the game of Geocaching, and I immediately thought of this spring as a place highly deserving of a cache. Fate, however, had other plans.
About the time I got into the game, Volusia County purchased the property, throwing a fence up around it. Patience eventually prevailed, and over the years Volusia County turned this property into a lovely park with a playground, a pavilion, shaded walkways and bathrooms. Visit the spring, then go hunt for this ammo can. Please rehide the can, and the tether, so the muggles who frequent this trail, don't bother it.
