Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES. There is a plaque at this location that contains information that you can use to decipher and determine the coordinates for the location of the cache.

This corner was once the entrance to Sacramento Home of the Great American Past Time—Edmonds field home to the Sacramento Solons, a field named in honor of Dick Edmonds a local Sports writer. Since the Field was razed in mid 60’s it has been a location for a retail shopping, first the Gemco department store and now the Target department store.

New Name – a Way Different game.

Edmonds Field was home of the Sacramento Solons, the Pacific Coast League AAA team until 1960 when they moved to Hawaii. In 1961, prior to it being demolished, the last baseball game played there was an exhibition game between the San Francisco Giants and the Cleveland Indians. That game featured back to back home runs by Willie Mays and Willie McCovey, both hit over the towering walls in right center field. [From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia]
