Geocache Description:

Easy hide in natural area along creek.
PLEASE STAY OFF THE FOLIAGE.

Be very careful crossing the road. Park NW of the cache.

Check out and enjoy the restored stream and natural area. The stream here used to be a concrete channel (flume) that ran alongside SE 256th St. The culvert upstream plugged up and the resultant flood washed out part of the road. The City of Kent's Public Works Environmental Engineering department, with the help of the Army Corps of Engineers did the creek restoration project. The "No Trespassing" sign applies to the newly planted area where they had trouble in the past with ATV's. Please remain on the trail and deck.

The City of Kent said "the stream and surrounding area is habitat to a wide array of wildlife such as blue heron, deer, frogs, salamanders, and Coho salmon. I haven't seen the salamander personally but I'm told by a biologist that they are there. This time of the year you may be able to spot a few Coho in the stream from the deck overlook area."

Do not access this from the Soos Creek Trail, there is no walkway connecting the two areas and there is no sidewalk on the narrow 256th Street bridge. Thank you and enjoy!
