E-200.A4 - North Gorge Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

emmett: It is time to finish with archiving my caches. I understand some may be interested in completing this series. The containers are still out there as far as I know so you can still log finds. I don’t want them listed on GC.com any longer and I will not be doing any maintenance until I have the time to modify and publish these as new caches on another site.

Geocache Description:

The E-200 Series marks my two-hundreth published waypoint and is a collection of twelve caches organized in three geographical groups, plus a thirteenth bonus cache, all hidden in the Mount Pisgah region of Berlin and Northboro, a large conservation area with an estimated ten-plus miles of trails and plenty of interesting terrain.

To celebrate my waypoint milestone, I have created a series that offers a wide variety of cache types that should mix in well with the caches previously placed in these woods, while leading hikers on a comprehensive tour of the area.

The series is explained in more detail on the Great Pisgah Challenge cache page. It will be helpful to read that page first before continuing here. (visit link)

About E-200.A4 - North Gorge

E-200.A4 is a mini multi cache hunt with a small final container holding only a log, pens and a clue for the Great Pisgah Challenge. You'll need to first find a micro that will point you to the cache location not far away.

The posted coordinates will take you to Pisgah's westernmost entrance, a parking lot on Smith Road. This is the designated access point for the E-200 Series. Nothing is hidden there, but these coordinates may come in handy at some point during your Pisgah travels.

To determine the stage one location, you must use letters, offsets and related instructions provided with the first three caches in Group A. Make note of the letters posted at E-200.A1. E-200.A2. and E-200.A3, match each letter with the corresponding offsets below, then subtract or add the offsets as explained on the instruction sheet inside each of those caches.

All three pair of offsets should be applied together to the starting coordinates provided on the E-200 worksheet to generate a resulting total will equal the E-200.A4 stage one coordinates.

You should use the worksheet provided at E-200.A1 to help you keep track of the letters, offsets and related instructions. The worksheet also includes the complete list of letters and offsets shown below.

Keep in mind, in the case of multis, the posted letter will be found near the first stage and the related instruction sheets are provided inside the final cache. Don't forget to write the posted letter on your worksheet before you head for stage two.
