A cache placed next to the Waterloo Tower, a category B listed
folly off Linburn Road near Kirknewton / Wilkieston. Access
involves some rough (and possibly muddy) ground, so unsuitable for
buggies or wheelchairs I'm afraid.
Despite a lot of Googling to write this cache page, I couldn't find
much information on the folly at all. I am guessing it was
constructed by the owners of the former Hatton House mansion to the
North, but can't find anything to support this theory. If anyone
can send me in additional information, I will gladly add it to this
page!
I have added a suggested parking co-ordinate, as Linburn Road is
quite narrow and the cache is near a blind corner. The parking
location is the entrance to two fields on the opposite side of the
road to the tower, so please take care not to block access if
possible.
