Located on the site of the old Lilyvale Township. Easy all weather access.
The Township of Lilyvale was Surveyed and Drawn up in 1862 by Charles Gregory, located then at the Junction of the Old and New, Peak Downs Roads.
It was thought to be ideally situated in the centre of the vast pastoral and mining area.
However the railway line bypassed the town and it was replaced by Capella.
Things to see;
- Windmill with previous flood level
- Remains of the Old Cemetry (look for the large rock)
- Shelter with information stones
- Street layout of the town on the ground (hopefully a map will surface soon)
The cache is a regular sized Biscuit Jar dressed up by our 3 kids and named by them also. The only thing this location needs is Potable water and a Toilet, but maybe one day...
