Geocache Description:

A place to pay ones respects and get home improvements in one visit! An easy, drive-by cache.

I normally would never place a cache in a graveyard, but this story must be told.

A while back, I heard stories of construction workers digging up a tombstone with a back-hoe. They had found an abandon family graveyard. After contacting the city officials, they received permission to relocate the graves. They searched and found more stones, but alas no graves. The contractor did the best he could and relocated the stones to where they are now.

There were "stories" and "unconfirmed reports" of strange lights at night in the field near the hardware store. They have all been written off as common everyday things like Swamp Gas, UFO's and even Geocachers. None were ever proven or confirmed. In August of 2007, the sightings abruptly stopped.

On August 27, 2007, William James Lassiter was given final military honors. (please click the related webpage link in the header) He was a farmer and a soldier. He was called an ordinary and an extraordinary man. May he and his family rest in peace.

Now on to the cache. It is not... repeat... not located on the tombstones. Please show proper respect and don't be poking around the graves. The cache is not there.

You are seeking a small / micro container. You won't even have to leave the street to grab it.

Please take a minute and take in the sights. It wouldn't hurt to bring a few flowers too. Remember wars fought so long ago. Times when it was important to fight for GOD, Country, Family and Honor. Thank you, Mr. Lassiter, Farewell.

NOTICE:
Although my legal team has advised me this may be a cemetery under Virginia law, I disagree. It looks like a strip mall to me. However, if you are stopped by the cops after dark here, don't blame me. Use your own discretion.
