Ingabo: I found the container after a long search but it was in bad condition. I decided not to put a new container since prerequisites here have changed.

Geocache Description:

This is geocache number 8 in a series of 24, a kind of geocaching Christmas calendar for Christmas 2007. The other 23 ones a re placed all over the country.

Lerån is a small brook with a very rich bird life in the valley it is forming. The area around it has been under discussion for becoming a nature preservative over the past years.
The main water is coming from the big high situated moors, Skantemossen and moors around Brattetjärn, north and east of the lake Tösjön. Lerån flows into the river Säveån in Lerum not far from the church.
Instead of completing the preservation idea this ring road for 50 milj SEK was opened November 19 2007 taking traffic around Stenkullen central parts. This did not increase access to the wildlife area but moved traffic sounds into it instead. A prerequisite for granting the road access to the area given by the County Administration Board (Länsstyrelsen) is to make the unspoilt part a nature preservative.

This cache is the easy accessible tribute to the sacrificed nature values in the nearby area. The railroad extension in plan for 4 tracks may as well kill the rest of the peace in the area if the ruling right wing party and its allies get acceptance for their alternative railroad direction through this area too.

The cache is a nano container with a logbook only so PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PENCIL OR LOGGING WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE !!
If you dislike this container size then you should consider not to log this cache !

Even if this area is not especially frequented there are children passing by so please hide the cache well again.

You can park your car close by at : N57 47.585 E12 18.105 making this a drive by (the direct access from the suggested parking place may be muddy, depending on weather conditions)or take an easy stroll from the nearby villa area. You may as well take the 1 km stroll from Stenkullen railway station if arriving by train.
Bus 525 will take you from Gråbo to Lerum making stop overs in Stenkullen too if you decide for bus 520 to Gråbo first instead.

To make everyone visiting this cache aware of the brook valley, since only its outlines can be seen from the road when looking westwards, another cache is placed only 377 m away (in a straight line) but much closer to the brook. A walking path will take you directly there. You may need good footwear or rubber boots to go all the way there !
