Geocache Description:

A forest micro near a little known observatory.

In an effort to appease the Geo-Spirits, I have placed a couple of caches along the Mt. Mooney road (in hopes of ending a recent DNF streak...). This short dirt road can be found across the street from Charlton Flats picnic area. This road can be taken in just about any vehicle, but be aware that it is one-lane, two-way. Keep your eyes out for oncoming traffic. The first large turnout you reach will have a gate at the East end. Park here (even if the gate is open), and follow the road beyond this gate. A short distance later, you will arrive at Stony Ridge Observatory. Founded in 1957, it is currently operated by a group of local amatuer astronomers. The cache is located a little ways past the main dome. Don't hurt yourself trying for the cache... use a tool...

This may be a Micro, but it is full of tiny goodies!!! Bring micro trade items....and a writing utensil!!
