Geocache Description:

******* CONGRATS TO Tool King ON THE FTF. *******

"Deep" comes first.

The evening sun might make this one easy to spot ... but maybe not easy to get.

First of a series of three caches: "Deep", "Deeper", and "Deepest". This is a beautiful area to photograph, so please port along your digital cameras and post some pics of your hike.

I don't recommend going out for these three alone. Bring a buddy for safety and/or assistance. Bring a cell phone. Bring some water and snacks. (But you do all that anyway.)

*** BE CAREFUL IF ANY IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF THIS TREK/RETRIEVAL ARE MUDDY! ***

***** ADDED NOTE (12/11/2007): This area is marked as "game lands", so hunting is permitted. Wear orange or other bright colors and don't be shy about making plenty of obviously-human noises.

Some difficult hiking, takes a good long time (certainly more than an hour to do all three), several creek crossings to be made on fallen trees, one of the three requires some climbing/scrambling/something, etc. Probably could not be done in Summer, or would, at least, be very difficult due to thickness of understory. Would be very difficult if we were to ever have another rainy period.

However, caveats aside: gorgeous bottom-land forest, nice birds, beaver-gnawed trees, giant beeches, etc.
