Geocache Description:

Salted, smoked, frozen. Many Lithuanians love herring. The cache is hidden by a former fish store. Hopefully it will reopens sometimes.

You used to see tons of herring cans stacked in any grocery store. Prepared and spiced in a variety of ways. Many Lithuanians don't refer herring to a fish. Traditionally herring is served salted with potatoes. Kids are taught herring is salty because it comes from a salty ocean waters. If herring is served at a party, you are supposed to eat it prior to having the main meal.

But most importantly some of the containers the herring comes in are great for geocaches. Enjoy.

First to find grabs FTF prize - a wooden nickel.
