Geocache Description:

A three part cache with some slight twists... (not recommended at night - how ever tempting).

The co-ordinates above are not the cache co-ordinates but somewhere to park and the start of your trail.

The first micro is very close by and well signposted. Inside you will find the first half of the co-ordinates for the final.

Head South along the road now until you find the footpath leading up to Bury Hill. The footpath you need has signs in two materials.

A very short distance along the path you will find it appears to split in two. Standing right at the point where the grass splits the path take a bearing of 62 degrees. 7-8 paces from this point is the second micro. Please be gentle with it!

Now on to the cache.... please choose your path carefully to reduce sign.

The final cache contains a logbook, changing stamp and inkpad but normally no swaps (TBs and Coins welcome).

In November and December this cache doubles as Santa's postbox so if you intend to visit please bring and swap a small card or wrapped gift.

When you're done head on up the main path to the fort.

Wellies are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in winter and please be aware that the fort is normally occupied by a couple of horses.

Bury Hill Fort dates to the Iron Age and was originally built by Celtic people. It was later used by the Romans from about 47AD as part of a line of forts stretching across from the Cotswolds to the Mendips. Most of the outline is visible although one side was lost to quarrying.
