Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT THE ABOVE COORDINATES N44°16.0BC W88°25.D[Knight]F

Solve the Sudoku to determine the final coordinates. Once solved, the final location and the solve itself will be necessary to determine the final solution to the 10th, and final, Zöe Bro Coup | Piece de Resistance. You will need to solve at least 4 of the 9 Coup puzzles to solve the 10th, but it is not necessary to solve each of the 9 "de" puzzles to find their finals if you have your wits about you.

Once upon a time in a land not too far away there lived a king who fancied himself a decent and wise ruler and he was, generally speaking, revered and well-liked by his subjects. He ruled a tiny little kingdom called Selzzup, which is about the modern equivalent of 9 square city blocks.

He came to the throne rather unexpectedly but took his mantle and his subjects seriously. Well, after his first year, the king decided to take a short vacation - just a few weeks to regain his senses before embarking on his second year on the throne.

One morning, near the end of his holiday, he was awoken suddenly by a knock on the door. It was his Chancellor, Evad, who brought news of a potential uprising, headed by a young usurper who'd recently come to the kingdom and was challenging the King's subjects to numerical duals of his own making.

Sensing that this young challenger possessed some skill, the King decided to issue a series of challenges in return. And so he called his court together that very morning and asked each of them to develop a puzzle for the young lad to solve. Coincidentally, the 9 members of his court each lived in one of the 9 tiny regions of the kingdom and therefore the King knew he would be well represented. "Bring them to me by sunset so I may issue the proclamation henceforth and with haste!". So the 9 members of the court left to ponder and postulate...

A while before lunch, the Captain of the Guard, Etep, appeared before the king and said, "I had this one created right away, your Majesty, but I was a little preoccupied with border security and couldn't get back to the castle right away" he said. "Given the strategic nature of this challenge, I thought nothing would be more fitting than to incorporate my role to protect the Queen in times of conflict. The lad must use the general rules of this game, but also know that in each 9-block grid, there must be either my queen or one of my eight knights and that not one of us may be in a position to attack another. My Queen is in her place as well as one of my bravest knights, you must position the other seven knights. The numbers will be from 1-8 with my knights accounting for the ninth"

The king was pleased with this and sent the Captain on his way.

A few days following, the Captain of the Guard again asked conference with the king. "Oh, Your Majesty, it appears that my mind was slightly preoccupied with the security matters of the kingdom when I initially presented my challenge. I have come to find that there was a solution I was not prepared for. I ask His Majesty for his forgiveness and I resubmit to you my challenge. I pray My King that this will prevent there being additional solutions.'

The King accepted the Captain's explaination and sent him on his way.
