Geocache Description:

On the newly opened trails in Lapping Park.

Lapping Park has 332-acres to play in.
There are several trails in Lapping Park.
Among those is the Trillium Trail at .5 miles with an easy walk. The trail takes you through a wooded area with ample opportunity to see wildlife along the way. Commonly seen include small ground animals, deer and birds. Also a wide range of spring, summer and fall wildflowers, ferns and fungi.
Silver Creek Trail at 1.5 miles with a moderate hike. This trail takes you along Silver Creek with some spectacular vistas. There is some modest elevation changes along the trail making the trail challenging to some. This section of the trails pass through some old-growth trees. All sorts of wildlife sightings possible along the way. Including deer, beaver, raccoons, fox, and birds.
The longest of the trails in the park is the Flatwoods Trail at 2.9 miles with a moderate hike.
You will be circumnavigating the old horse trail area and the pastures that they used to graze in. There is a few open fields that serve as gathering spots for White Tail deer. There is many loops of the old horse trail that can add a few miles to your walk if you so please.
Lapping park closes at dusk, so allow time for making the hike.
