Geocache Description:

Mt Leonard is on the left hand side as you leave Bulga heading toward Windsor. Please be aware of some concrete rubble that has been dumped near GZ. Some of this rubble has steel reio sticking out of them. The cache is not in these areas.

The cache GZ overlooks the Mt Leonard area onto farm and pastoral land which is divided by Parson’s Creek that flows into the Wollombi Brook. Unfortunately you cannot see the Mt Leonard Homestead (built in 1879), from the cache site, which is quite majestic and of the traditional style houses of its period.
There is not allot of information about Mt Leonard, but we do know that the Alexander family purchased 11,000 acres of land when they moved from Victoria. The family later moved to Tocal and founded the Tocal Agricultural College in the Maitland area.
