I found this area while caching in nearby CT. As it turns out, this
was once the Pine Top ski area that operated from the 60's to the
80's. The state of RI now owns the land and the North-South trail
now passes through this area. This is also a hunting area. The hike
is about 1/2 mile one-way. I rated this a 3 for terrain because
there are 2 water crossings and about 1/10 of mile of wet area
(which is icy in winter)
All users of state management areas, and all
hunters statewide, must wear at least 200 square inches of solid
daylight-fluorescent orange material from the first Saturday of
October through the end of the season, February 28.
