Located in Valley View Park off of Small Road in the City of New Berlin, site of the annual Soap Box Derby Races. Name of cache modified Dec 25, 2010 to reflect name used in the Boy Scout Geocaching Merit Badge.
This is the site of a 1200 foot long black topped race course (covered by snow in the winter). The annual New Berlin Soap Box Derby Races are held here the first weekend after Labor Day in September each year. For the last 23 years a special race for special needs children has taken place on the same day. The cars, which are provided, are equipped with dual controls to allow a second driver (Boy Scouts from Troop 41 chartered to Ronald Regan Elemenary PTO in New Berlin) to assist if necessary. The first special needs race was organized by a youth working on his Eagle Project in 1985 and it has continued every year since then. He has continued to work at this special event each year and is still involved in Scouting, even though he long ago received the Eagle rank. Find any three caches in the series Trail to Eagle by Potawatomi Area Council and you may go to the Potawatomi Area Council's office at 804 Bluemound rd.
