Love and Geocaching are in the Air Event II
The event will be held on a Saturday, February 2 from 11:00 - 4:00.

Hi Geocupids. Well Momma Popeteer and I have been meeting togethor and with the NW crew. We have so many things planned. You can participate in all or some of the games, but as always you can come just to chat.
We have created a custom pathtag for the event. Each cacher will receive one pathtag. This is an event only pathtag so this will be a limited edition tag.
Games:
Poker Run - OSC will be assisting with the Poker Run
TB's and Coins - Kokopelli, Blue Rose and The Hardings will be helping with the movement and trade of coins and tb's We are going to try a different approach and have everyone sign in/out their tb. This will help us with keeping track with as many tb's as possible so when we get "Where is my TB Mail" we can point the owner in the right direction.
Raffle - Pappy's Possee will be assisting with this. We have some very neat gifts to give away.
Kids games - Skyfire and Random Confusion will be helping with a Scavanger Hunt for the kids, plus the club has a pool table.
ManofSteel73 will be greeting everyone at the door and assisting people who are unfamiliar with the club where to place their food etc.
This is just a list of items we are planning. Please remember to sign the "Love is in the Air Geosign" as well.

HGCS Bug Race 2008 to begin at Love is in the Air Geocaching Event:
Set up your TB with the following Name:
TB Bug Name: HGCS Race 2008 / geoname or whatever makes you happy.
The race will commence on February 2, 2008 and will end on February 2, 2009
The rules are.
RULES:
--A geocacher may enter up to a maximum of 5 geocoins / tb's in the race.
--All geocoins / tb's must be trackable on geocaching.com.
--All geocoins / tb's entered must be registered by the coin owner (the person who entered the coin / tb into the race), have 0 miles logged and contain no log entries prior to the start of the race. The coins must be officially started from the Love is in the Air Geocaching event.
--Prizes will be awarded to the top racer based on greatest distance traveled, top racer for most geocaches visited.
--If the same coin wins for both the greatest distance traveled category and also the most geocaches visited category, then the prize for most geocaches visited will go to the 2nd place coin in that category.
--In case of a tie in either of the categories, a tie breaker criteria will be established.
--All prize winners will be contacted for their mailing information so I know where to mail their prizes to.
--Racer standings will be updated on a regular basis. I am hoping to have a running thread on HGCS website.
--The race will go for exactly one year and will end on February 2, 2009.
RACE RULES: You can put this in your tb / coin page.
If you find a geocoin / tb in a geocache and take it, please move it along to another geocache in a timely manner. Since these geocoins / tb's are in a race, please be considerate and do not keep them for more than two weeks, or preferably less.
Only log the geocoin into a geocache when you actually physically left the geocoin / tb in the geocache for the next geocacher to find. In other words, no placing and retrieving of a geocoin / tb from the same cache, just so that you can give it miles.
If handing the geocoin / tb off to another geocacher, get them to use the "Grab it from current holder" log entry.
If showing the geocoin / tb to another geocacher, get them to use the "Discovered it" log entry.
In the rare situation where an owner of a geocoin / tb finds their own geocoin, they may move it on to another geocache, but it may not be more than 50 miles away and you are limited to a maximum of two movements for the duration of the race.
If any of these rules are not followed, the owner of the geocoin may be asked to remove the violating log entry. If the violating log entry is not removed, then the geocoin's race standings/stats may be adjusted accordingly.
Each coin must be registered into the Love is in the Air Geocacing Event and started from there. Each coin must be hand written into a running log so I can establish a list from that log.
RACE CATEGORIES:
Category: Greatest Overall Distance Traveled
This is based on the valid mileage value on the geocoin page indicated on the line that says "Travel Bug History (#.#mi)".
Category: Most Geocaches Visited
This is based on the total number of valid "placed it" logs on the geocoin page.
Again as stated above, you may enter up to five geocoins into this race. This will be a fun competition among us all
Prize One: Most miles traveled - One year subscription to Geocaching.com
Prize Two - Most caches traveled. - $25.00 gift card to Gander Mountain.
