Geocache Description:

This is the place where you can get rid of some unused pens that you have lying around the house. There is a companion home for pencils across the road

Where do ink, ballpoint, and felt-point pens go when they are no longer needed or wanted? If the ink in a pen runs out, or the point no longer produces a good line, it is usually tossed into the trash. Before the days of cheap pens when there were ink wells and ink bottles this was not the case; pens were treasured instruments. Even in the early days of ballpoint pens, when the ink ran out, a refill was purchased; pens were not discarded so readily. Now we seem to be inundated with pens, some nicer than others, that we picked up at a trade show or where given to us as a marketing tool. Because some of them appear to be quite nice - even though we know that they are really cheap - we are reticent to throw them out.

Well, here is the place to where that pen can be retired. Leave a pen that you think might like to retire with others pens. And if any pen strikes your fancy take it out of retirement and give it a useful life. How sad! A pen that was never used.

You will have to climb over some downed trees to find this cache but the trek is not a long one. The container is an ammo box and is well hidden.

Please do not use the log book to test a pen. Most of them don't work anyway.
