The Top Traditional Cache

I’ve been wanting to do a mountaintop cache in this area for quite awhile. Those of you who are familiar with my caches will be pleased to hear that (despite the name) you really don’t have to engage in an extended exercise session to get to this one. You can drive most of the way to The Top in a 4X4. Getting to the final cachesite (I wonder where THAT could be?) requires a short walk and a bit of hand over hand climbing, but the cachesite can be reached in 15 minutes from the parking area. Overall I think it is easier than either of the nearby Batcave caches, but it is also potentially more dangerous. Read the warning:
WARNING: Good shoes are a must for going after this cache. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CACHE IN SANDALS. You could slip and fall and die. Likewise, I would not recommend bringing small children to this cachesite.
To get to the cache leave the main road at the waypoint mentioned below. Follow the road up the hill. The road was hardsurface at one time and it kind of still is; however, parts of it are in very poor conditiond. I recommend only using a 4X4 with good clearance, since there are a lot of deep potholes on the road.
Once you reach the end of the road, get out of your car and walk to the right of the fence to the far corner. From there you simply climb to The Top!
