This is intended as a drive-by cache for an All
Terrain Vehicle (4x4) equipped geocacher whom is experienced at
driving a greenlane byway (Byway Open to All Traffic) within a
woodland backdrop. Other geocachers can also approach this cache on
foot after parking on the grass verge located on the side of the
busy A303 at 51°07.085'N, 2°03.456'W. See below for Byway
details.
The cache consists of a small sturdy plastic
container that can hold geocoins, logbook, pencil and very little
else.
Note: The cache coordinates are averaged within 3
metre accuracy. Other non essential coordinates in this description
are taken from map data and are likely within 20 metre accuracy.

BYWAY DETAILS:
Note: Many map show this route as either a
footpath, bridleway or RUPP (road used as public footpath) but due
a pre NERC DMMO application (in this case 2005) being made prior to
the NERC Act the route even though sign posted as Restricted Byway
is safe (for now) to drive without user evidence.
The byway runs approx. 2 km from the A303 at 51°07.085'N, 2°03.456'W to 51°08.116'N, 2°03.740'W. You can start at
either end, but shortest route to cache is from the well hidden
entrance off the A303. The track is unsurfaced and runs along side
of woodland where the overgrowth has been cleared for vehicular use
but suggested max speed is 3mph only. Depending on time of year
there might be boggy conditions present near the cache and due
caution required. The track is gated in places so please leave
these as you encountered them (i.e. if closed, then close them
again after you drive through).
