Ginger's Doghouse Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Gram&Gramps: After a run of more than 14 years, this cache has come to the end of it's days in this location. The property has been sold and there's no room for a Geocache. But... there's a chance it could be resurrected in the Waupaca, WI area. Hopefully this memorial to Ginger the Geodog will be able to continue.

Geocache Description:

This cache is set up in memory of Ginger the GeoDog. Ginger helped us find around 150 of our first 200 caches. She loved going places with us, and was so excited to be making another trip up north in November of 2006. Sadly, she went to sleep on the back seat of the car on that trip and never woke up. So it seems appropriate that she is buried nearby, and real close to this GeoCache. Being up north and cache hunts with us were both things she loved. Rest in peace, Ginger. You brought a lot of joy and happiness to our lives for almost fourteen years. Grandma & Grandpa & Jason & Becky

This cache is quite large, and has a lot of room for any types of trading goods. Although it is a tribute to Ginger the GeoDog, there is no doggie theme - any swag, trackables, and travel bugs are welcome. Please trade evenly or trade up.

This cache may be easily done at any time of year. It is well off the ground so is quite winter friendly. It is placed on private property with the permission of the owners, and is near the road. Very close parking will be no problem - anticipate a hike of about twenty feet!

Like the rest of this cache, the logbook is larger than average. Please take a moment to look at the pictures of Ginger. Photos posted of your dogs helping to find this cache will also be welcomed and treasured.

Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache. Please keep this in mind when entering your log.
