4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

This is a small cache and an easy find that can store small swaps and trackables.

The cache is just off a public access road on land that is used as a buffer zone between residents/property owners and Wambo Mine.

There is room to park on the side of the road and the cache is located no more than ten metres from the shoulder of the road.

Off road driving in this area is prohibited.

Wambo is one of Peabody's largest operating mines and is located in the Hunter Valley, about 30 kilometres from Singleton. Mining commenced in 1969. Wambo produces around five million tonnes of saleable thermal coal a year.

Wambo's mining leases cover an area of more than 5,300 hectares and contain 202 million tonnes of recoverable coal in the Whybrow, Wambo, Redbank Creek, Whynot, Arrowfield and Bowfield seams.

Peabody Pacific acquired the mine in 2006.
