Geocache Description:

A few years ago, well, maybe more than a few, I remember listening to a Blue grass band, playing at the Waverly Bar in Cumberland.

The song I remember, was about a whip saw logger who was lamenting about his day in the woods.

Seems like he spent his week dropping a big fir, and bucking it up into smaller lengths. Then the sections would be hoisted up by a steam donkey and lowered on to logging rail cars. When the time came to remove the sections, the steam donkey blew a boiler tube, and had to be pulled out of the bush for repairs.

Now, this log was the last one in the drop zone, so when they pulled out the donkey, they also pulled out the log train tracks. Which meant the logger wouldn't get his bonus pay, just straight wages.

Hence the name of the song.

I think I found a dropped tree that suits the song. At or near the co-ords, you will find a big stump. Follow the 3 sections of log to the end, where you will find a smaller stump. There you will find the cache. For the first to find, you have a choice of either a geocache.com keychain, or a geo-pin.

Park at the regional park, along River Road.
