Bring a Bucket Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Clue Seeker: It's with great disappointment that I archive this cache. It seems most people have had fun here but the local circumstances suggest that further activity may draw negative attention and unpleasant experiences. Thanks for the fun! I loved reading your logs. CS.

Geocache Description:

A fun cache at the old site of Mt. Airy Cold Storage.

Mount Airy Cold Storage was razed within a week of its closing in September, 2007. The sign is still here. The old B&O rail loop appears all but abandoned. In a trade publication article Kier Knight, the Greater Mt. Airy Chamber of Commerce’s advertising and marketing committee chairman, said he hoped a new business on the scale of the cold storage facility would move to the site. Many prospective business owners have had difficulty securing approvals and permits as the town has struggled with water supply and has limited water allocations. "In terms of commercial space in the future, it’s going to be a prime spot," Knightly said of the warehouse site.

I think he needs to hire a new fortune teller. It has only been several months but this place looks like it has been abandoned for a decade. Have fun. The cache is smaller than a baskeball and larger than a bison tube.

Congratulations to tombearr for FTF
