mo pirate:

Wow. My second oldest cache. Well the museum is closed and building is up for sale. Guns placed outside are no longer there so the cache is also no longer there. Thanks to all who enjoyed this cache as much as I and Colonel Frank did.

Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden near the National Military Heritage Museum. The cache is hidden in the outer grounds of the compound but no digging is necessary. Please replace it exactly in the same position as you found it.

Please take time to visit the National Military Heritage Museum nearby. It is housed in St Joseph's first Police Station. The historical and architectural building was designed by nationally renowned architect Harvey Ellis and dates to 1890. The museum preserves the heritage of the United States Armed Forces and even those folks that served on the home front in time of war. Several displays show the different war's military issue clothing, equipment, vehicles, and weapons. A Huey gunship helicopter used in Viet Nam is one of the many interactive exhibits. Visitors can sit in the pilot's seat and visualize flying into battle. Replicas of famous battle scenes, Navy vessels, WWI planes, and the Viet Nam War Memorial wall are on display. Take some time to pay tribute to our veterans by touring this very worthwhile site. It is open M-F from 9-4 and Saturdays 9-noon. 816-233-4321 Permission was granted by Colonel Frank Flesher, Director and Founder of the museum. The original cache contents include the log book, pencil and trade items of jar lid remover, military vehicle hotwheel, pony express collector pin, American flag collector pin, a 100+ year-old square nail from the museum, small marker, chapstick, Gonzo the military duck Travel Bug, and a new James Madison Dollar coin for the FTF. Military trade items and military geocoins or travel bugs are best for this cache.
Congrats to ONETRAPPER for FTF!
