Climb a Tree of Utah: Rosy Russian Olive Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Oberon_Kenobi: After some thought about this cache, I don't think that the original location is still suitable for a cache. I didn't find another nearby tree that would be a suitable replacement, so I'm archiving this cache. It has been sort of replaced by a nearby cache of mine placed tonight.

Geocache Description:

Climb a Russian olive tree with a rose plant growing on it to find a decon container. Practice saying, "Ouch!"

This is my first cache in a new series that I'm placing: Climb a Tree of Utah. The name is based on the Trees of Utah series that is placed in Kaysville and surrounding areas. However, unlike that series, the coordinates I give you here will take you directly to the tree you need to climb. The name will give you an idea as to what type of challenge you will face.

In my youth, I liked to climb trees, so I got a lot of experience. I don't climb trees nearly as much anymore, but I still have the experience.

Off of Riverdale Road, a paved street branches off and quickly dead ends. This street has no apparent purpose except as overflow parking for Ruby River. The street just ends without going anywhere useful, so I figured that it was a good place for a cache.

I was going to place an ammo can, but then I spotted a Russian olive tree and decided to begin this planned series of caches. As a bonus, I found that a rose plant is growing up the tree. At this cache, you will have to worry about thorns.

Because I didn't have my swag bag, I left two travel bugs in this cache. In order to keep this cache properly stocked, if you take something, you'll need to leave something. You can leave swag for a travel bug, or a travel bug for swag, but always leave something if you take something.

The cache won't stay by itself, so make sure that you loop it over the "twig". This one is a difficult one and you've been notified of the terrain requirements, so you'll have to actually write in the log to count this as a find. I'll check on the physical log occasionally and delete any logs of those not in the log, so make sure that you sign it.
