Greater Volusia Tennis League 7, Palm Coast Tennis Center
The Greater Volusia Tennis League, GVTL, is an adult tennis league for tennis club members in Volusia and southern Flagler Counties. The Palm Coast Tennis Center has been anxiously awaited by an active tennis group for about 2 years. These folks used to play at a wonderful club down by the ICW near the toll bridge. However the owners decided they wanted other things. The club house was converted to a resturant which failed quickly. Dues were raised, rumor has it to almost $3000/year. This drove everyone out and condos are on the way. I played my first GVTL match at the old club 6 years ago.
There are about 20 clubs that participate with about 1500 players in the league. About half a dozen active levels of play for both men and women are provided as well as several mixed doubles leagues. Play is mostly doubles as court time is often at a premium.
Please keep the cache hidden so it doesn't get muggled. The area may be wet but it was bone dry at placement.
