Parque de N. S.ª dos Milagres
[S. João da Madeira]
O parque de Nossa Senhora dos
Milagres é um dos mais apreciados parques urbanos da cidade de S.
João da Madeira. Lá encontra-se o Santuário da Nossa Senhora dos
Milagres que foi construído com os donativos da população de S.
João da Madeira, fruto da vontade de uma comissão constituída para
o efeito em 1930, tendo sido inaugurado em 6 de Novembro de 1938,
em acto presidido pelo Bispo do Porto.
Reporta-se ao
período Neo-Românico, tendo na sua fachada uma imagem de Cristo
crucificado, em mármore. Dentro do templo existe uma imagem, em
madeira, de Nossa Senhora dos Milagres. Existe ainda um parque
infantil e um pequeno café, aberto essencialmente no
verão.
O espaço do
parque propriamente dito é muito agradável e é frequente encontrar
por lá pessoas a fazer jogging, ou simplesmente a passear. Existem
várias espécies de árvores, algumas de grande porte que enriquecem
o património natural do local.
Encontrarão o
cache perto de uma ponte muito curiosa, a Ponte do Garcias. Não
conheço a história dessa ponte, mas garanto-vos que é uma ponte bem
bonita, com um estilo de construção original.
Tentem não dar nas vistas (o local da cache é um pouco
exposto), nem andar a tirar pedras de onde não devem (o GPS fica
balhado com tanta árvore). Por favor, coloquem a cache como estava
(tapada por vegetação) para que possa perdurar e não seja
destruída/descoberta.
The park of Our Lady of
Miracles
It is one of the most
appreciated urban parks of the city of St. João da Madeira. There
is the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Miracles which was built with
donations of the people of S. João da Madeira, and the
determination of a committee formed for this purpose in 1930 and
was inaugurated on November 6, 1938, by the Bishop of
Porto.
It Reports to the Neo-Romanesque
period, and in its facade we can see an image of Christ crucified,
in marble. Inside the temple there is a picture in wood, of Our
Lady of Miracles. In the park, there is also a playground and a
small coffee, essentially open in the summer. The area of the
park itself is very nice and there is often people jogging, or
simply walking. There are several species of trees, some of which
enrich the natural heritage of the place.
You will find the cache near a
very curious bridge, the bridge (Ponte) of the Garcias. I
don’t know the story of this bridge, but I can assure you
that it is an interesting bridge with an original style of
construction.
Please, use stealth (the local of the cache is a little exposed)
and put the cache as it was, covered by vegetation so that it can
continue hidden and undestroyed / undiscovered.
