RT66: MO - Stairway to Heaven - Calvary Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mongo: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Get Your Kicks On Route 66
Enjoy your drive down the Mother Road.

The intent of this series is to point out historic or unique places along old route 66 between IL and CA. It is NOT meant to be a power trail as caches may be 50 miles or more apart. Stop and enjoy these sights along the way.

Fairly easy cache. Parking may be a challenge but parking below the cache seems to be the best option. Parking above the cache may be illegal. Be careful crossing the busy street. This cache is located in Busche park. It is a little used park as there is really nothing but an old Stairway that leads to Heaven. At least thats one way to look at it!! You'll see when you pull it up on a map. The name of the adjacent property is fitting! Some day I'll have to wander around the cemetery next to this park. I used the infamous John Tee preform to hide this cache. If any knowledge by cachers of any history of this park please share it in you online logs. I did run across a description of Old RT 66 that ran it from the Chain of Rocks bridge this direction down North Broadway and between the cemeteries and then on to West Florissant.
