SF Playgrounds - Children's Playground Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, or you have neglected to do necessary maintenance, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thanks for your cooperation!

Geocache Description:

One in a series of nano-size caches placed in SF playgrounds -- to claim an online find you must sign the paper log in the blinker (the photo experiment didn't work, since most people that tried to claim a find that way didn't actually upload/submit photos when they claimed their find).

(original description from abngreg)

When I was in high school, I spent some time hanging out in playgrounds, mostly on the swings. Even now as an adult I love to find a great swing. In honor of my love of the SF playgrounds, we are placing a series of nano caches around the city. Children's Playground seemed like the appropriate place to start.

The history of the playground is pretty incredible, even if the playground itself has changed. The playground orinigally opened in 1888 and is thought to be the first public playground in the United States. The Carrousel right next door opened at the same time as the playground. Since the playground has been re-invented into state of the art play-adventure. Although, I miss the old apparatus, I can appreciate that times must move on, and things that were once safe for children no longer qualify. Too bad most of the stuff is too small for adults now, except the did leave leave in the hillside slides.

Please remember, since these caches are placed in playgrounds, there will be heavy muggle activity, we recommend attempting these at night to avoid detection. Enjoy.
