Geocache Description:

A short climb to some amazing rocks

Click to go to the Mega Scotland web site

Stroll along the track leading from Sma Glen through to Loch Tay,you don't have to go all the way. Although there is a well defined track almost all the way through to Loch Tay, this track is private and for use of drivers staying at the cottages, only. Please respect this and leave your car at the parking spaces on the road - 56°27.723'N, 3°48.375'W.

From the parking spaces, walk across the bridge and through the gate on the left hand side. There is a notice on the gate telling people not to take cars along, although walkers are welcome.

As you approach one of the holiday cottages you will see a bridge over the River Almond. This is not the bridge shown on the map. Walk up to the gate at 56°27.981'N, 3°52.669'W and follow the track down to the gate. Please don't climb the fence, the gate takes you exactly where you need to be.

There are a few more gates on this track, please close them all behind you. The cache is just beyond the end of the track.

Watch your feet as you walk round the rocks, at the cache site, there are some big holes in the ground here. Think there must be a big bird living up there too, why we think that will become obvious when you see the rock.

We saw lots of buzzards while we were walking along the track. We were hoping to see some deer but that wasn't to be. There were a few birds in the heather near the cache site, so please stick to the rough trail from the end of the main track up the hill.
