A hike up the western Mountain Range of Ukiah. It is a steep and will reward you with great views and a place U can see from miles away! The trail up is very speratic in spots a will appear to be nothing more than a deer trail at points. I need to return to provide better trailhead coords, but have provided what is needed to access the "only legal way" through here.
You will be climbing approx 1309 ft within 1.5 miles so bring some water.
This cache is placed where I always wanted to go as a kid and never made it up here till Feb of 07 after the long lost "Top of the Valley" of which I destined to find or replace...well I replaced it and upon request of adoption it became archived! The only 2 known routes are now private property and cannot be accessed except by tresspassing! So I found this route with help from friends on our way back down at that time.
The Trail becomes difficult to follow 3/4 way down at a clearing of sorts, but have provided coords for the trail up from there. We found the correct trail the first time, but upon my recent descent found myself using deer trails to find my way back down. I need to gather the waypoints from my old GPS to better provide the trail of which we took down from there and it is at this point of which you will find difficulties reaching the best trail down and challenging as well to reach this point on your way up! For now I have provided an approximate starting point and a mid point of which you will want to find the trail on.
Also You gotta locate the benchmark at the top of the trail, just before the main trail...I was MAJOR bushwhackin on my way up and found it in the middle of nowhere...Soon to find I was right on track!...Way cool to stumble on this and will be a part of the Multi I provide to better accomodate the best way up and down! Way easier to find your way down to the clearing...Now if I can just find the best way up to the clearing again!!!
