007's Disc Golf Geo-Tour Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

007BigD: I am choosing to temporarily Archive this listing, till I am able to better accomodate the cache placement. I checked on final yesterday and it is still in place.

I need to provide a suitable location for a Large container and so far my attempts have not been able to accomodate such a placement.

This cache WILL be up and running again... I have talked with several people in regards to authorized placement, but have not been able to catch the appropriate person needed to do so. Once I have provided a Large container suitable for discs for you to play with and have updated the neccesary reference points, I will re-list this cache. Till then, enjoy all the other caches in the area!

Geocache Description:

***Stage 1 is a Small~No Disc's currently avail, you can find all stages & walk course...New stage 1 comming soon!***

1st stage is listed at the posted Coords!!! Consists of 7 Stages along the Disc golf course... You will be playing 18 holes of Disc Golf at Lake Mendo Disc course! It is 2 mi. long, so bring some water with ya! All stages are all along the course from beg to end...All ya gotta do is play, find the caches and tell your score!!!...expect about 3 hours

Grab the discs and head to the Hole #1 tee. Just like regular golf except ALL HOLES WILL BE PAR 3 (for simplicity...and tournament play) ya got 3 throws to make it in the basket, for every throw over 3~add 1 point to your score, for every throw under 3 remove a point, that easy! I have also included a map of the course and score card in stage 1...Get the coords for stage 2 in the container within the 1st stage and from there will lead you to the remainder stages...They are all small caches bigger than a film can...some slightly!

The second stage is not a container and cannot be muggled...it is written down for you!

Have fun, enjoy the game of Disc golf...Dont worry bout the score, like I said just have fun! Please replace the discs in the cache when finished and cover Stage 1 very well!

I will provide a alternate access to the next of the stages in the chance that one goes missing on ya...but till its found at least once I think they are safe! Hints provided just in case you get hung up on a stage, but thats cheating-right? :) Please cover all stages...none are in sight, use your Geo-sense!

IF YOU LOOSE A DISC...DONT WORRY~ITS PART OF THE GAME!...Just let me know in the log, when you log your score!

Many different ways to throw a disc and I will try to better provide with info as time passes. See what works best for you...Try an overhead turnover (Tomohawk), Side arm (2 finger), Backhand (Traditional) or even a roller. It really takes time to learn a disc and its characteristics, so be patient and try to work through it. Just remember Backhand (righthanded) will usually go to the left whereas a side arm will usually cut to the right. (again sometimes depending on disc aswell)

When driving with the drivers backhanded think "pullstarting a mower"...bring the disc across your chest and swing your upper body, thats where you get the snap! Its really not about the power and strength...and dont forget the footwork! You will want to use all 4 fingers gripping the rim and release with a snap- It will take time, but this is the jist of it.

When using sidearm dont "swing" your arm (U-Shape), rather throw it straight and level or tilt it a bit for direction of travel.

You can angle the disc at release away and towards to manipulate its travels...This is called Hyzer and Anhyzer.

Use the putters for approach to the basket, you will have more control...The putters are more blunt on the edge and the drivers are more sleak.
