Cache is located at Crater Lake, which is a short detour off the Stuart Highway.
Crater Lake is located along Crater Lake Road which can be reached by either Batchelor Road or Stuart Highway. Cache is located about 180m off Crater Lake Road, alternatively there is a dirt vehicle track into the lake.
There seems to be very little information regarding the history of this lake, how it was formed etc - other than that it was used as the initial water supply for the Rum Jungle Mine.
