Geocache Description:

This is a small cache hidden just outside of Bel Air, MD.

My past few caches have been multi-caches with a mathematical bent, so this is one is a change of pace. The cache is located on a small hill located just outside the city limits of Bel Air, MD. From here, you have a nice view of Harford Mall, the only enclosed shopping mall in Harford County, MD, and it is one of the few malls in the local region that is not located right next to an interstate highway.

There is plenty of parking near the cache, and no bushwhacking is required. There are muggles about--so be careful. The cache is well-hidden--please rehide it as you found it.

The Green Aussie Jeep (TBQ865) is waiting for the FTF.

UPDATE (26 January 2008): I came across the following bit of history that occurred near this hill back in 1970. The exact location of the incident was near the intersection of Business Route 1 and Tollgate Road. This intersection is roughly between the cache location and the Harford Mall.

From Wikipedia (visit link) In 1970, notorious Black Panthers member H. Rap Brown was on a safety-relocation trial in the courthouse for instigating a riot after a rally in Cambridge. Radicals sent to eliminate Brown drove to Bel Air in a car laden with plastic explosives, intending to take down the courthouse, but the car exploded too early, leaving a crater in the road less than a mile away. The trial was eventually moved again.

From The HISTORICAL SOCIETY of HARFORD COUNTY (visit link)
"The County Courthouse was spared when a bomb believed to be intended for the Courthouse accidentally killed the bomb deliverers near the intersection of Tollgate Road and current Business Route 1. Rap Brown was to be tried in the Courthouse at that time."

Update (17 March 2012): This cache is now back in business in a new container and location (not far from the original location). If you previously found Version 1.0, you are welcomed to log a find for Version 2.0 (assuming that you find Version 2.0). Dropped off Geowoodstock IX Official Event Geocoin TB4EFKF for the FTF to move along.

Update (30 July 2012): Added hint.
