The Slurpee is one of the most popular frozen beverages. Originated in 1967, the Slurpee name, found at only 7-11s, was first only marketed in the United States, but has since expanded worldwide. Canada is the country that drinks the most Slurpees, despite it being one of the coldest. Winnipeg, Manitoba, was crowned the Slurpee Capital of the world for an eighth consecutive year in 2007. Manitoba alone averages 8,330 Slurpee sales per month; the rest of Canada averages 5,990.
