Geocache Description:

The Pollok Beech is thought to be about 250 years old and in 2002 was named as one of Scotlands Heritage Trees. It stands in the woodland gardens around Pollok House. The tree is still used as a Wishing Tree so bring your ribbon and your wishes. It's good for climbing in too.

The above co-ordinates will take you to the tree where there a couple of simple questions to be answered before going on to find the cache. I had no problems with GPS coverage while the trees are bare, during summer months that might change. I would recommend wearing boots if it's been raining recently, otherwise you could end up with wet feet.

**********************************************************

A - On the information board, how many different 'plants of interest' are mentioned?

1B - How many stone steps are there up to the tree on the east side?

Go have a look at the twisty trunk of the holly tree to the north of the beech. There's no reason for this, I just like it.
