Geocachers!
We hope to see some "newbie's" in the area and of course the
familiar friends as well.
The purpose of our event is to welcome ALL Geocachers. Bring
family and friends! Share tips and ideas, trade TB's and geocoins,
and last but not least, to share more great caching stories.
If you are coming, please post here no later than Friday at 9:30pm
if you want food.
Please note that you can still come and have coffee, hot chocolate
and enjoy the company if you can't confirm by 9:30pm.
This will be a potluck and we would like everyone to post what
they are bringing. We will have hamburgers, hotdogs, coffee and hot
chocolate.
Things we need: Plates, Cups, Napkins, side dishes, deserts
etc.

Where: Malabar Farm, Lucas,
Ohio
In the rolling countryside of Richland County, Louis Bromfield,
Pulitzer Prize-winning author and dedicated conservationist,
created his dream -- Malabar Farm. Inspired by his love of the
land, Bromfield restored the rich fertility of the farmlands and
preserved the beauty of the woodlands. He built a 32-room country
home, where his family, friends and neighbors could share the
pleasure of life on the farm. In his book, Pleasant Valley,
Bromfield wrote, "Every inch of it (the house) has been in hard use
since it was built and will, I hope go on being used in the same
fashion so long as it stands. Perhaps one day it will belong to the
state together with the hills, valleys and woods of Malabar Farm."
Bromfield's prophecy came true in August 1972, when the state of
Ohio accepted the deed to Malabar Farm. The state pledged to
preserve the beauty and ecological value of the farm.
What: A gathering of our
geocaching friends to share some good times, good food.
Details:
- 9:00 am Event committee to set up. Walk-in volunteers
welcome. Coffee and Hot Chocolate will be available.
- 9:30 am Cachers may begin to arrive at that
time...please, no earlier at the cabin...give us a little set up
time to prepare for you!
o Please stop at the registration table to
pick up your name tags, register for the event and sign our log
book!
o $8 per adult cacher will be collected at
the door. One free child registration with each adult.
o Please bring food to share.
o Poker Run cache information will be
available once you have registered!
o There will be a 50/50 raffle.
o Stop by the Trackables and Sig Item Swap
tables all event long!
- 12:30 pm Lunch.
o Return your poker cards to the
table!

Poker Run: What is a Poker Run? well
there will be 7 caches. You will go to each cache sign the log like
normal. Then you will take a card from the cache. When everyone is
done with caching we will come back to the cabin and see who had
the best 5 out of the 7 cards. winner will have the best hand. You
do not need to know how to play to winner. It's the luck of the
draw.
You do not have to play poker if you don't
want to. However it's fun.:
