First a note about the placement of this cache. This a public
stream access to Back Creek, however it is bordered by private
property. The cache is not on the private property which is very
clearly marked and there is no reason to even step foot on the
private property to access this cache, so please don't.
Back Creek
The following is from Wikipedia so take it with a grain of salt, as
with everything from Wikipedia.
"Back Creek is a tributary of the Potomac River that flows north
from Frederick County, Virginia to Berkeley County in West
Virginia's Eastern Panhandle. Back Creek's source lies along
Frederick County's border with Hampshire County, West Virginia at
Farmer's Gap in the Great North Mountain. Its name reflects its
location to the west of North Mountain. The perspective from the
east in the 18th century made it the "Back Creek" because it was
lying to the back of North Mountain."
Additionally don't wear your Sunday shoes when hunting this
cache, when we placed it there was ankle deep mud. Also the area
could really benefit from some CITO so bring a bag when you come.
Muggle activity can be high here during the warmer months, so be
wary during those times.
Another note about the placement here, I had horrible
accuracy with my GPS anywhere from 75 to 30 ft at times. I took
numerous waypoints and they were all consistent but if you find
these coords to be off please let me know. I'll keep checking back
to see if I can get better accuracy.
