Geocache Description:

For somebody who did so much for this area & for somebody who is the last of the Boandik Tribe, why is this grave site so far away from the rest of the community?

Lanky was buried at the local cemetery after a short illness in 1901, the year of our Nation's Federation. The grave is marked by a wooden picket fence and a cairn of stones. A plaque with a death mask in the likeness of Lanky was placed on the cairn along with two aboriginal axe heads.
He is also commemorated in the town with a “Lanky Street” and “Lanky Walk”.
