Geocache Description:

This should be a quick park and grab, located in the Hochatown Cemetery near Beavers Bend State Park and Broken Bow Lake. This a a log only cache.

The community of Hochatown, the Hochatown Cemetery and adjacent church all have a interesting history. Hochatown began as a small Choctaw Indian Village before statehood on the Mountain Fork River. When the plans came to dam the river in the mid-1960’s the small town was moved from what would soon become the bottom of Broken Bow Lake. The church and cemetery were moved from Old Hochatown to the new location along Highway 259. As you walk through the cemetery you may come upon several plain, ground-level grave markers of people who were once buried at the original location. Many of the markers are engraved with "unknown" or simply a name. The cache is a camouflaged matchstick container and should be an easy find.
