Geocache Description:

Mount Davis Battery 摩星嶺炮台 at peak of Mount Davis - cache altitude approx 272m

Mount Davis Battery completed in 1912 with five gun emplacements, as part of the Island West coastal defense line of Hong Kong.

Three of the artilleries still in place during Japan invade Hong Kong in 1941, the battery had been destroyed by the defender before surrender, after heavy combat.

The gun emplacement, commanding platform and shelters, etc. remind as they had been abandoned, which were not sealed as other WWII ruins in Hong Kong Island.

(The following had fenced now - the top emplacement's underground ammo storage room, ACCESS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!! – watch your steps. )
