Geocache Description:

This cache is accessed from the Waiwakaiho Scenic Reserve/Meeting of the Waters on the outskirts of New Plymouth from Junction Rd/Waiwakaiho Rd.

Starting from the carpark a sign guides the way the Araheke trail.Just follow the orange markers.Once within approx 100 m of the suspension bridge, stay close to the fenceline ,to an easy 30 minute loop walk through native bushland on a well defined Arahake Trail.
Note: A local farmer may have animals grazing so leave all gates as you find them.
The cache is hidden along the Araheke Trail. It's a blue plastic container with a black lid, concealed by a large rock. (You'll know it when you see it).
The coordinates were showing as up to 10 m away when right next to the cache. However when approaching and reading the GPSr there is no doubt where it should be.
It is possible the rock is from an eruption from the nearby Mt Egmont/Mt Taranaki. (visit link)
