This cache has been archived.

Dalesman: As this cache has been in need of attention for some time, with no update from the CO, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

This is the end point of one of our walks, with the Cub Scouts, from Thornthwaite Campsite in the '80's and early '90's.Once there, a great place to play stalking games.

Most years we walked in beautiful sunshine and gentle breeze, but one year as we were half way there the heavens opened and we were hit by a hugh thunder storm. Its surprising where you can find shelter when needed. I recall approx 7 of us in the phone box in the village.

The cache is close to a footpath off a road from Thornthwaite village named 'My Love Lane' The cache site is like a little version of Brimham Rocks.

At the time of placing the cache the moorland was very wet and suitable clothing is recommended. Also there were sheep in the field so dogs will need to be kept under control.

Please also take time to visit the Earth Cache here for some very detailed info on how these crags have weathered over the centuries. GC8BAJW
