Geocache Description:

Since this cache was placed on New Years Eve, so here's a New Years Eve Story.

Back in the middle of my junior year in high school, a friend of mine and I ended up dateless and partyless on New Years Eve when our girlfriends had plans with their friends and the crowd that we usually ran with went to see the Michael Stanley Band concert that night. We were not invited to girls night out and neither of us were Michael Stanley fans, we found ourselves in the predicament of what to do for the evening. Instead of being total losers and staying home, we decided to be partial losers and go to see a movie. I don't recall the movie we saw that night, but I do remember that we were the only people of our age in the theater as the rest were little kids and a whole bunch of "old" folks. After the movie, we decided to head over to grab a bite to eat at Denny's, our favorite late night haunt at the time.

We were seated in the non-smoking area next to a couple in their 60's. I don't know if either of them were hard of hearing or not, but their conversations were extraordinarily loud and we could hear every word. When the waitress approached them to take their order, I recall the conversation went something like this:

Waitress: Can I take your order?
Lady: I'll have the Super Bird with fries.
Waitress: For you, Sir?
Gentleman: I'll take the breaded shrimp dinner and fries.
Waitress: I'm sorry sir, we're all out of shrimp.
Gentleman: Oh. I'll just have the jumbo grilled cheese then.

The stark contrast between shrimp and a cheese sandwich struck us as funny, and to this day we joke about the jumbo grilled cheese on on New Years Eve.

Now, about the cache:
The cache is in Presidents Park in the city of Mentor and it cannot be accessed from the highway, so don't bother. There's a reservoir adjacent to the cache area, so keep the little ones close by. Please check the parking coordinates for the best place to park. There are signs at the park entrance declaring "No Trespassing After Dark" and "Pets Must be Leashed" so no night caching at all and keep Lassie on a lead. The cache is on the small side for a small so NO SIGNATURE ITEMS regardless of the size and you'll need to bring your own writing utensil.
