Geocache Description:

This a 35 mm micro near Toomey Field just on the edge of Downtown Davis. Nearby are several nice caches you can easily reach on foot in under 5 minutes.

The cache is located just outside Toomey Field, the present home of UCD’s track and field sports teams, and the former home of the football team. Originally built in 1949, we are quickly approaching its 60 year anniversary. For those inclined, you can read more about the history of Toomey field at: Davis Wiki: Toomey Field

The cache site is most easily reached on “green” modes of transportation such as foot or bicycle. Please use stealth; the muggle-factor here can be high, especially on school days when many students will be passing by here. Also, watch out for bikes! They have the right of way on the path. Happy hunting, and an “untouched” U.S. quarter from the Denver mint for First-To-Find.
